The ammunition and explosive device were in two boxes and were in unusable condition, the officer said, adding that the police were informed about the cache by local residents.

During 1965 Indo-Pak war, there was a bunker in the area which had collapsed and the ammunition got dumped. It resurfaced during the recent rain and flashfloods, he said.
