Another landslide in Dharamsala hills

A massive landslide hit the old slates mines in the hills overlooking Khaniyara village near Dharamsala town on Tuesday morning.

The road leading to Thatri village situated in the hills was damaged. The debris also choked the nullahs and accelerated surface erosion in the down slopes. However, no loss of property or life was reported.

Meanwhile, landslide continued in Tihra Lines village near the hill town bringing down more army buildings. A major landslide has swept away around a dozen residential buildings belonging to the army and damaging several private houses on August 7.

As many as 26 families were rendered homeless due to landslide, who were later shifted to the government quarters in the town till rehabilitation.
