Army patrol fired at in Kupwara, one jawan killed

One army soldier was killed when militants and the army exchanged fire on Wednesday morning in north Kashmir's frontier district of Kupwara.

Preliminary reports that militants opened fire on an army patrol in Lolab area, 130 km north of Srinagar.

The exchange of fire in Kupwara district has come just a day after the army claimed to have killed five militants near the Line of Control (LoC) in Keran Sector of the district.
