Artist’s work spanning 70 yrs on display at Fort

The 42 works showcased in the exhibition span 70 years of the Mumbai-based modernist’s work and include sketches and paintings on canvas and glass sourced from the JJ school’s collection, private collectors and Raiba’s studio.

“The 4th Year Party, which shows different breed of dogs, two of them barking at each other, is a satirical work that reflects Raiba’s days in college, when some of his seniors disapproved of his artistic practices,” said Sumesh Sharma of Clark House Initiative, co-curator of the exhibition, along with professor Anant Nikam.

Also on display is an untitled painting from Raiba’s Vasai series, created in 1982.
