After a brief tryst with power, Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal has turned to his former mentor Anna Hazare to boost his party's electoral fortunes in the general elections due in May.

The two are expected to meet soon to discuss how Anna can help in AAP's latest avatar of fighting corruption through electoral politics. The AAP needs Hazare to broaden vote base among people aged above 50.

The differences between the two anti-graft crusaders had appeared soon after Kejriwal decided to form a political party.

Hazare had prohibited Kejriwal from using his name or photographs in the campaign for Delhi assembly, while AAP termed Lokpal bill passed by Parliament and praised by Hazare as "jokepal".

Of late, however, Hazare has felt slighted with reports of former army chief VK Singh showing inclination to fight Lok Sabha polls on BJP ticket. And much to his chagrin, another close aide, Kiran Bedi, has praised Narendra Modi and criticised Kejriwal.

The signs of thaw appeared last Sunday when Kejriwal met Hazare at Maharashtra Sadan and expressed willingness to sacrifice his government for janlokpal bill. When Kejriwal quit on Friday, Hazare congratulated him for the "bold step".

In Ralegan Siddhi, Hazare termed Kejriwal's resignation "a victory and not a defeat". Also, without mentioning Kejriwal's name, Hazare said "the people earlier associated with lokpal movement should come together".
