It seems likely if one goes by his secret visit to Indore on Saturday from Ahmedabad where Jodhpur police team is scheduled to visit in a day or two to quiz him after his claims of absence on the day of the crime were found false.

The godman has been booked for sexual assault following a complaint by a girl at the Kamla Market police station in central Delhi.

The minor girl, a native of Shahjahapur district of Uttar Pradesh, had visited Asaram Bapu in his ashram at Jodhpur on August 15, where he allegedly sexually assaulted her on the pretext of treating her ailment.

Sources said the saint went straight to his  ashram near Asaram Bapu Crossing on Khandwa Road in Indore and met Devotees but avoided media persons. His followers are ‘convinced’ of his safety in Madhya Pradesh.

Only a few days back, former Madhya Pradesh chief minister and BJP national vice-president Uma Bharati and another vice-president had suspected a Congress conspiracy behind the rape allegation against Asaram Bapu.

Madhya Pradesh’s health minister Narottam Mishra had also 'expressed confidence' that Asaram Bapu would come out clean in the case.

Bharti had tweeted in support of Bapu saying that he is innocent and that he has been targeted for opposing Sonia Gandhi's family.

"Asaram Bapu is innocent. He is being targeted for opposing Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. False cases are being filed against him in Congress states. We are with Asaram Bapu," Uma tweeted.

A large number of his devotees assembled at the ashram to hear him but he went in isolation soon after his arrival. “He will address a satsang from 4pm till 6pm on Sunday and is scheduled to leave for Surat on Tuesday,” said J P Moolchandani, caretaker of Bapu’s ashram in Indore.
