Present the Lok Sabha elections to the people as an ‘election for India’. This was the advice BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi had for party leaders ahead of a dinner meet at BJP headquarters in Delhi on Tuesday.

The Gujarat CM also told the party MPs to get more involved with the people, reach out to voters through social media and increase door-to-door activities. He also asked them to focus on public outreach and make programmes like Chai Pe Charcha and one-note-one-vote a success.

The MPs were also asked to keep reminding voters of incidents like the Patna blasts during Modi’s ‘hunkar’ rally, as people tend to forget such incidents. Positive of good results in the elections, senior leader LK Advani said he has not seen before such a national mood in favour of the party.

MPs too made suggestions to the party with one of them pointing out that the BJP should try and reach out to minority voters. Another party leader suggesting that the BJP should be more aggressive in responding to attacks on Modi.

Some MPs also suggested that incidents like the recent killing of a northeastern student in Delhi and the plight of Bangladeshi Hindus in Assam should be highlighted.
