Normal life was crippled once again in Manipur due to resumption of an indefinite general strike and bandh in Naga areas, and subsequent re-imposition of a 12-hour curfew in four districts in the state on Thursday.

Meanwhile, suspected bandh supporters torched two trucks that were transporting rice near Senapati near New Karong on the morning of December 27.

The United Naga Council, a Manipur-based body that is demanding an ‘alternative arrangement’ for Nagas, had called for a 72-hour bandh in Naga areas since the midnight of December 26.

The bandh, which will conclude on December 29, affected vehicular movement on almost all routes.
