Serial rapist Jaishankar was nabbed on Friday five days after his sensational escape from the high-security central jail in Bangalore.

Police commissioner Raghavendra Auradkar said the accused, who had injured himself in the knees, feet and back during the escape, was arrested from Kudlu gate in Bangalore south on the Tamil Nadu border.

The special police team arrested Jaishankar with the help of an informant who received a call from him asking for a vehicle to escape, Auradkar told reporters.
