To repeat his offer once more, Bundela on Tuesday came to visit Parmar's family in Panna Naka area of Chhatarpur district.

On Thursday afternoon, when he proposed to Parmar again, she categorically refused and told him that the only thing on her mind at the moment was the preparation for an upcoming job exam.

Spurned, Bundela pulled out his service revolver and shot at her. Though, she was taken to a hospital, doctors declared her "brought dead".

After firing at her, the accused had tried to escape but was caught by the local people. He has been arrested on charges of murder, said Chhatarpur superintendent of police Lalit Shakyawar.
