Agriculture director DN Sharma was removed from his post late Wednesday evening after serious allegations of asking for bribe from investors.
A delegation interested in setting up industry in food processing sector had recently complained against DN Sharma that he was creating hurdles and demanded bribe for facilitation of setting up of the factory.
Principal secretary Rajesh Rajora confirmed that Sharma has been removed. He has been shifted as in-charge of MP State Agriculture Training Institute while additional director of this institute Vijay Pandit has been given charge of director.
This move of the government is seen as important in the light of upcoming Global Investors' Summit to be held next month.
Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is trying to hard-sell the state to foreign and local investors.
The incident occurred three days ago when investors were allegedly ill-treated by the agriculture director.
Irritated investors met principal secretary agriculture and PS to CM and had complained about the incident.
