After effectively cornering the state government on PEB scam and alleged power crisis, the Congress seems to be stepping up the ante by using novel ways to attract public attention towards the ‘failure of the ruling BJP government’ on various fronts.

The party is now using cartoons to target the state government. Huge cartoons displayed on hoardings have been put up in the heart of the city to take on the state government. Congress leaders claim they have realised that new ways are needed to draw the attention of youth and the cartoon strategy is a part of it.
These hoardings have been put up at Roshanpura, one of the most prominent intersections, which lies between new and old Bhopal. "The cartoons are catching the attention of at least 10,000-20,000 persons every day," says Youth Congress’ former district president Manoj Shukla.
"This is helping us spread the message that the government didn’t take due action in Professional Examination Board (PEB) scam. Chief minister not recommending CBI inquiry into the scam is also reflected in the cartoons," he added.
Shukla told HT that PCC president Arun Yadav has asked cadres to put up cartoons across the state to highlight failure of the government. "Soon you will find cartoons on power crisis also," he said.
Congress leaders allege when these hoardings were put some time back at different parts of the city, the government got them removed.
The party has now decided to get them installed at its own buildings. The cartoons have been put up at the Jawahar Bhawan, the District Congress Committee’s building, at Roshanpura in Bhopal.
State Congress vice-president Manak Agarwal said the cartoons are an effective medium.
The fact that these hoardings have caught public attention, the cartoon strategy seems to be working for Congress. "Though I am not much aware of politics, these cartoons are nice to see," said Swati Kaushal, a science student.
