Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) woman constable Ritu Kumari, who had attempted suicide at the Raja Bhoj Airport in Bhopal, was on Wednesday discharged from Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS).

In another development, the CISF constable has been transferred to Ghaziabad. Ritu Kumari's brother Prahlad Kumar confirmed that her sister had been discharged. "She has been given medicines for four to five months and asked to take bed rest.

The doctors have also asked her to consult them if she complains of any problem. We have also received a letter from the CISF administration about her transfer to Ghaziabad," he told HT.

Meanwhile, the police have issued notices to all the witnesses of the case, asking them to record their statements afresh. According to sources, the notices have been sent to five CISF personnel, who are key witnesses of incident, and two relatives of Ritu Kumari, whom she had called up before attempting suicide.

Mahila police station town inspector Renu Murab said, "We need to record the statements of all the witnesses afresh. A team of police will soon leave to nab the accused deputy commandant Vijay Kumar Dhankar, who has been transferred to West Bengal."

Dhankar was first sent on leave and then transferred to Durgapura steel plant in West Bengal after 25-year-old Ritu, who was posted at the CISF Bhopal Unit, shot herself from her service revolver.

Recently, the police had recorded Ritu's statement for a second time when she was undergoing treatment at AIIMS. In her statement, the CISF constable had confirmed that she was sexually harassed by deputy commandant Vijay Kumar Dhankar.

The CISF administration had also initiated a 'Court of Inquiry' under its BHEL unit commandant Aradhana. Sources claimed that Aradhana has given the accused a clean cheat in the inquiry report to senior officials.
