A Bihar-based man was promised that his daughter would get admission in a medical college in Bhopal and was in turn cheated of Rs. 6.9 lakh. The police have registered a case in this regard.

The complainant, Digambar Singh, a resident of Patna, was approached by one Shashi Shekhar Singh. Singh had allegedly told Digambar Singh that he would get the latter's daughter admission on a payment seat in a private medical college. Digambar Singh came to Bhopal and met Shashi Singh in a hotel here. He was so convinced that he gave the money.

However, when his daughter's name didn't appear in the admission list, he got suspicious. He tried to contact Singh but the latter could not be reached on phone. Subsequently, he informed the police. After preliminary inquiry, the Shyamla Hills police have registered a case against the accused.
