The Congress on Tuesday questioned the raison d’etre behind chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s visit to Dubai, terming it a useless exercise.

The party vice-president Manak Agarwal said that CM’s foreign visits in the name of attracting investment is nothing but a waste of public money.

Agarwal said that from his first stint, Chouhan has been claiming that he would bring investment worth crores, but despite holding investors summits, there has been nothing in terms of generation of jobs for youths.

"The MoUs were signed but they remained on papers. Now CM and his companions are going to Dubai after recent tours to South Africa and China. This is nothing but unnecessary wastage of public money," said Agarwal.
