Names of senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) functionaries have cropped up in the Professional Examination Board (PEB) scam with some accused and candidates in scam naming former RSS chief, late KS Sudarshan, and senior functionary Suresh Soni. The exam had been conducted by PEB in 2012.
Sources said that their names are included in the statements of prime accused in PEB scam — Pankaj Trivedi (former director of the board) and one of the accused candidates Mihir Kumar.
These statements are part of documents submitted by the STF while making former minister Laxmikant Sharma an accused in the food inspector recruitment exam scam.
According to sources, Trivedi said that Sharma had recommended the name of a candidate Mihir Kumar (roll number 702735) saying that Mihir was a man of Soni. The former minister also recommended four other candidates for food inspectors’ recruitment exam.
In his statement, Mihir said that he worked as helper of Sudarshan and had given a photocopy of his application form for food inspectors’ examination to the latter with request to ensure that he cleared the exam.
‘Sudharshan immediately phoned Sharma and the latter assured that it would done. Sudarshan then asked me to fill up the answers in optical mark reader (OMR) sheet to the extent I was sure of them and leave rest of it blank. Later, I found myself in 7th position on the merit list when the results were declared,” Mihir’s statement said.
