Anshu Kumari, a BA Part III student of Patna College of Commerce, led her two friends to a daring midnight heist at a Domino’s Pizza outlet on Monday. They succeeded in looting Rs. 2.70 lakh.

But, luck soon ran out on them as some employees at the fast food joint recognised them as former colleagues despite the hoods.

One pistol and Rs. 2.36 lakh cash was recovered on Tuesday from Kumari, Barat Vikas and Mohammad Akil, who said they were inspired by movies.

“I wanted a lot of money, and quickly,” Kumari told the media at a police press conference.

SSP Manu Maharaj said the trio barged into the Exhibition Road outlet after breaking open the rear gate.

“They first damaged the CCTV cameras then locked five staff members inside the ‘cold room’,” he said.

The trio also assaulted some employees with rifle and pistol butts before snatching the cash box key, helping themselves to the money and escaping on motorcycles.
