BJP state president Vasundhara Raje will be sworn-in as the 21st chief minister of Rajasthan on Friday. The event will take place at Janpath and not at the Governor’s House.

The party’s brass, including Narendra Modi, national president Rajnath Singh, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh, senior leaders LK Advani, Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj, party allies like Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu and several religious leaders are expected to attend the ceremony.

The venue was changed as arrangements are being made to accommodate as many as 30,000 people. The Governor’s House can hold up to 2,000 guests. Chairs have been set along the entire stretch of road leading from the assembly with LED screens dotting the venue.

Raje, who took stock of the preparations on Thursday, will be the only one to be sworn-in by governor Margaret Alva at 11.45 am on Friday. The cabinet of the 14th legislative assembly will be formed later after consultations with the party high command. Raje met the governor on Tuesday and staked the claim to form the government in the state.
