The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has uncovered prima facie evidence of the nexus between Saradha top brass and the ruling Trinamool Congress after examining call details of mobile and land line numbers of Saradha functionaries.

The CBI, which is investigating the multi-crore Saradha scam, has identified 76 calls  lasting longer than 10 minutes — between Saradha top brass and ministers of the Trinamool Congress party.

CBI officers found that Saradha bosses also received calls from these ministers. The sleuths feel that these conversation details would be able to establish the TMC’s links with Saradha functionaries including Sudipta Sen. Most of the calls were made by the politicians to Sudipta Sen and the company’s executive director Debjani Mukherjee.

Officers are now probing whether the Saradha functionaries were using other numbers still unknown to CBI. Call details of the two SIMs that Sen was carrying when he was in Kashmir in April 2013 were also seized. Bidhannagar police had seized these SIM cards but CBI officers alleged that the SIMs were not handed over to the CBI along with Sen’s red notebook and pendrive.

Upon analysis, the sleuths found repeated incoming and outgoing calls in these two numbers from three numbers which were tracked to a minister’s assistant.

CBI officers are also trying to retrieve the various SMSes sent and received on the mobile numbers.
