Case filed over hacking of Barkha Dutt, Ravish Kumar’s Twitter accounts

A case has been registered in connection with the hacking of Twitter and email accounts of journalists Barkha Dutt and Ravish Kumar by a group ‘Legion’.

The group had also hacked into Vijay Mallya’s account and were also suspected to be behind the hacking of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s twitter and email accounts.

A complaint was received on Monday and Delhi Police’s economic offences wing has initiated a probe in the matter.

“We have registered a case and taken up investigation. All professional and mandatory steps are being taken to investigate the matter. We are in touch with the concerned agencies.

“It does take time to get information from agencies in other countries but we are coordinating with them. All best possible legal procedures concerning other countries are being followed,” said Dependra Pathak, spokesperson and joint commissioner of police (Southwest).
