Cash aid to differently abled persons for marriage

Puducherry Government has announced a cash assistance of Rs. 50,000 to differently abled persons getting married.


The aim of the scheme was to enable the differently abled couple lead a smooth life after marriage.

While Rs. 20,000 would be given as gift to the couple for purchase of household materials, remaining Rs. 30,000 would be in the form of National Small Savings Certificate in the joint names of the husband and wife and would be deposited in six year term deposit.

A communication from the Welfare department said similar assistance would also be available for marriage of differently abled person with a normal person.

The couples should be residents of Puducherry to become eligible for the assistance which would be sanctioned on production of marriage certificate issued by competent authority.

Police to conduct polygraphic test on DIG Paraskar

The Mumbai crime branch has sent a letter to deputy inspector general Sunil Paraskar in a bid to seek his permission to conduct a polygraphic and lie detector tests on him. While the police are awaiting a response from Paraskar, the officials said that they would soon approach the court to seek its permission.
