A teacher was attacked by a student when she stopped him from copying during the ongoing examination of Bachelors Degree in this winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir.

A first year student of SPMR College of Commerce yesterday attacked a woman professor, who stopped him from cheating, police sources said.

They said the accused, identified as Tawanpreet Singh, not only attacked the professor but also tore his answer sheet and of some other students.

"A complaint was lodged against him and he was arrested after simultaneous raids in the city area," it added.

A case under Sections 341 and 323 of RPC was registered against him.
Police said the arrested student was also involved in stabbing a twelfth class student last year.
