The breakaway faction of the People's Party of Punjab (PPP), led by Arunjot Sodhi, met social activist Anna Hazare in Delhi on Thursday.

Sodhi, accompanied by Bharat Bhushan Thapar, extended support to the India Against Corruption (IAC) movement and invited Hazare to Punjab.

"Hazare has expressed his willingness to come to Punjab on March 23," Thapar said in a statement here.

The PPP's faction has announced to hold a major congregation at Khatkar Kalan in Nawanshahr district on March 23, the martyrdom day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev.

"Our enthusiastic workers, especially the young folk, would make arrangements for Anna and his movement, which would be a second war of freedom being launched by him on January 30 from Patna," Thapar said.
