After being released from the temporary jail in the PWD guest house of Aliganj in Etah district on Tuesday, international president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Praveen Togadia made clear that the chaurasi kosi yatra would continue unabated.

Slamming the state government for its “high-handedness”, Togadia said the state government was acting on the instructions of SP leader Azam Khan.

“The government is not run by Akhilesh Yadav… the ban on the parikrama has been imposed because of his cabinet minister Azam Khan, but we would not allow his dream to turn Uttar Pradesh into Mughalistan,” said Togadia.

Togadia was released on Tuesday morning along with former MP and trustee for Ram Janam Bhoomi trust Ram Vilas Vedanti and former Faizabad MLA Lallu Singh. VHP activists raised slogans of ‘Jai Sri Ram’, as their leaders walked out of the guest house.

Later, they reached the house of VHP leader Raj Kumar Singh alias Rajju Bhaiya where Togadia held a press conference.

He alleged he was not given food and medicine during his detention and that no doctor was provided despite high court orders.
