Lucknow:  Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Sunday asked party leaders to counter the saffron brigade’s strategy of making inroads into Dalit vote bank. “Check the BJP’s plan to create a constituency among the schedule caste and schedule tribe by projecting itself as well wishers of the weaker sections and to woo them into the fold of Hinduism,” she said.

Addressing the members of BSP central executive committee and state units Mayawati asked the party to gear up for the assembly election in Uttar Pradesh.

Buoyant by the victory in Lok Sabha polls, “the BJP will use all the tricks in the book to pull down the Akhilesh Yadav government for early assembly election in UP,” she said. Mayawati directed party office bearers to strengthen the organisation at grass root level and launch a membership drive to spread the ideology of the party among all communities.

Anxious that Dalits might support BJP in the bypolls on one Lok Sabha and eleven assembly seats Mayawati directed party leaders to ensure that BSP members cast their vote for independent candidates who supports BSP ideology.

Blaming the SP and BJP for communal violence Mayawati said there is tacit understanding between both the parties to polarise voters along religious lines.
