The Delhi high court on Friday issued notice to the Delhi Police on a bail application filed by the owner of the bus in which the 23-year-old paramedic student was gangraped and assaulted on the night of December 16.

Justice Mukta Gupta asked the police to file its reply by May 1. Bus owner Dinesh Yadav has been booked for allegedly committing forgery to get his fleet of buses registered in Delhi.

Yadav has been charged by the police for submitting false documents to the state transport department to get his vehicles registered.

A lower court on January 8 had rejected Yadav’s bail application, saying the forged documents furnished by the accused were to be sent to a forensic science laboratory for obtaining an expert opinion.

“Keeping in view the nature and gravity of the allegations and the fact that investigations are still in the preliminary stages, this court is not inclined to grant bail to the accused,” the court had then stated.

Yadav, 35, was arrested on January 2 on charges of cheating, criminal conspiracy and giving false statement on oath.

The police claim that he had allegedly provided false data to the transport department.

Tihar security
The special court conducting the trial in the December 16 gang rape said if the accused wish to avail the CD of the security arrangements inside the Tihar jail they are free to approach the jail magistrate.
