The family of a Class 12 student, whose body was found in southwest Bihar’s Rohtas district, alleged that he was killed for making public the love affairs of his classmates.

The body of Sahil Kumar, 18, was found on Friday near Jagadev Chowk at Tilauthu, 26 km from district headquarters Sasaram and 160 km southwest of state capital, Patna. His motorcycle was also found lying near the body.

Police said they identified the body with the help of identity proof found in the victim’s pocket and informed his family.

A resident Mirsarai village in the district, Sahil was the only son of Shambhu Singh and Saraswati Devi.

Relatives and locals alleged that it was a planned murder by the family members of the boy and girl whom Sahil had seen in an objectionable position on December 7 and made public their affair.

Sahil was killed with a sharp-edged weapon and his body was thrown near Jagdev Chowk to show that it was a case of a road accident, victim’s uncle Prabhu Nath Singh alleged.

Agitated family members and locals blocked a road at Tilauthu in protest against the murder and prevented police from lifting the body. They were demanding registration of a case and arrest of the alleged killers.

The blockade was lifted after police registered a case against the accused boy and a relative of the girl on the statement of Singh.

Singh alleged that his nephew was receiving threat to his life since he made public the love affair of his classmates despite a compromise reached with the accused in the presence of the principal of the intermediate college where they had been studying.

Police were investigating the case and waiting the post-mortem examination report to ascertain the cause of the death, Tilauthu police station SHO Vishvajeet Kumar said.
