An unidentified person shone light at a passenger aircraft, moments before its touchdown in Chennai, leading to a momentary jerk in landing, airport officials said on Tuesday.

The sudden light fell on the pilot’s cabin on Monday night. However, no one was injured and the Jet Airways flight with 148 passengers safely taxied to its designated bay, they said.

The light was shone from Pallavaram which lies close to the airport, they said.

Following a complaint from the pilot to airport officials, they filed a plaint with police who have started a probe into the incident.

Airport officials are also looking into the matter so as to avoid such incidents in future.
