Andhra Pradesh chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, who has become a hitch in the Congress’ Telangana plan, is headed for a definitive confrontation in the capital with his united Andhra stance.

On Monday, Reddy would meet the Group of Ministers, set up for the Andhra Pradesh bifurcation, equipped with reports and presentations to prove his point that a division is detrimental for both regions — Telangana and Seemaandhra — be it over Hyderabad, river water sharing, power generation, fiscal burden or Maoist menace.

The meet comes in the wake of reports that the party mulled a change of CM to facilitate the division before the announcement of the 2014 polls.

With the party unlikely to retract its Telangana decision, Reddy’s camp comprising many Seemaandhra ministers and legislators counts on delay and defeat of the Telangana bill in the state assembly that could derail the new state formation.

Union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde stated that the Telangana bill could be presented in the winter session beginning December 5. The GoM headed by Shinde already held consultations with various departments and also the political parties from AP, barring the TDP which boycotted the GoM.
