Chief minister Virbhadra Singh has taken up the issue of charging high registration fee at the hospital of Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) at Sundernagar and Pandoh of Mandi district, with BBMB chairman AB Agrawal here on Saturday.
“Himachalis are being highly charged for registration slip at BBMB hospital, Sundernagar, and the dispensary at Pandoh,” said Singh.
Besides, Singh said the state government would provide adequate trained nurses to BBMB on secondment basis at Pandoh and Sundernagar.
Singh also asked BBMB to clear pending issues of the state besides lauding the progress made by BBMB.
Expressing concern over oustees' issue, he said over 44,000 acres of Himachal Pradesh was submerged due to construction of Bhakra Dam.
It was unfortunate that people who were ousted could not be rehabilitated properly in Haryana and the families ousted due to construction of Pong Dam had also not been rehabilitated properly in Rajasthan, said Singh.
He asked BBMB to accord approval to cater drinking water requirements of the people of the state and allot a piece of land near Pong Dam for fisheries farming.
Meanwhile, Agrawal apprised the chief minister about the status of BBMB projects and also briefed him about the progress of works related to the golden Jubilee of Bhakra Dam.
Inviting the chief minister for the golden jubilee celebrations, Agrawal said BBMB would provide all assistance to solve pending issues of the state.
