Senior BJP leader and former HP chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal has said the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre was a government full of scams and the President should take a lead to save the nation and dismiss the central government led by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and hold fresh elections to the Lok Sabha.
Addressing party workers during his jan jagran campaign here on Sunday, he said the recent exposure of the railway scam had once again proved that the Congress party was surrounded by corrupt elements and was promoting corruption to win the next elections with the money collected through corruption.
However, people of the country were wise enough and would not fall prey to their evil designs, he added.
Dhumal said people had not seen such a government that had stooped too low on all fronts since Indian got freedom and time had come to say it goodbye.
He gave a call to the party workers to expose the Congress party and its corrupt practices. He alleged that the main aim of the Congress was to mint money and forget about the promises assured during the elections.
The BJP leader said the Congress-led state government was adopting a one-point programme to order transfers and then to cancel that at the orders of the courts.
He asked the chief minister to clarify on whose orders such transfers were being ordered when there were clear-cut instructions that there would be no political interference in transfers of government employees.
Dhumal came down heavily on the chief minister for ignoring Hamirpur on all fronts. He alleged that most of the medical officers at the Hamirpur zonal hospital had been shifted without providing replacements, causing a great inconvenience to people.
He said such actions of the government were anti-people in general and anti-democratic in particular. He gave a clarion call to the party workers to be ready for the next Lok Sabha elections, which could be held any time as the Congress party was short of majority in the Lok Sabha and wanted to get rid of its allies.
He said the BJP-led NDA was united and would take reign of the nation once the elections were held.
