Congmen hail launch of food security scheme

Congress party leaders in Hamirpur have hailed the decision of the central government to start the food security scheme in the name of late Rajeev Gandhi.

They said the scheme would be helpful for the poor and the down-trodden section of the society in the years to come.

Chief parliamentary secretary ID Lakhanpal, chairman of Hamirpur marketing board, Prem Kaushal and director of Kangra central co-op Bank, Anil Verma in a joint statement here on Tuesday thanked Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for the scheme. They said the scheme would change the lifestyle of poor people.

They said a meeting of the gram sabhas of the state would be held all over the state on October 7 to tell them about the scheme.
