The HP state secretariat of the Communist Party of India Marxist has demanded for a thorough probe into the alleged connection between the Indian Domestic league and the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA).

Besides, the CPM has demanded a white paper on the HPCA from the state government and has asked it to levy tax on the T-20 matches in the state.

In a press release issued here on Friday, CPM, member state secretariat , Tikender Singh Panwar said they also demand immediate resignation of the Indian domestic league chairman in wake of spot-fixing.

The party stated when the two cabinet ministers, whose ministries were involved in rail and coal scams had to resign, the T-20 tourney chairman should also be asked to step down immediately.

The CPM alleged that the Indian domestic league was a slur on the game and was nothing beyond a money laundering machine.

“It has always been and has truly turned into a symbol of corruption where a good chunk of black money is pumped in through many quarters,” he said.

“Everything in the market is becoming a saleable commodity and sportspersons have also become a victim of this market-oriented league,” he said.

“The growing demand of banning the T-20 tourney should be fully endorsed and the party supports it,” he said.

“There is a strong nexus between the land estate mafia, the education mafia and the HPCA in the state that needs to be exposed,” he alleged.

Accusing the Congress government of being laxative on reclaiming the land that has been offered to the HPCA for building a five-star hotel in Dharamsala, which is a community land, he said, “It seems that the government has not gone through the recent judgment of the Supreme Court that forbids such transfer of community land for commercial ventures.”
