Decomposed bodies of cousins Dipesh Vaghela (10) and Abhishek Vaghela (11) were found on the banks of Sabarmati river about 2.5 km from Asharam Gurukul on July 5, 2008 in Motera, Gandhinagar, where they were enrolled in class V and VI respectively.

After about one and half years state CID crime investigating the case yesterday filed the case of criminal negligence against seven persons who are closely associated with Asaram's Ashram at Motera here.

"After thorough investigation we have decided to slap a case of criminal negligence against seven persons of the Ashram," a senior official said.

The state government has ordered a judicial inquiry to look into the matter of death of the two boys that had sparked off violence and bandhs in the city.

Parents of the boys had approached the Gujarat High Court asking for CBI inquiry in the case alleging that the state police have not been able to find the culprits.
