Two-year-old, four other minors raped

A two-year-old girl was allegedly raped by an 18-year-old youth at Minapara village in North Dinajpur district, police said on Sunday. The accused has been arrested.

An FIR lodged by the victim’s father said that the child was raped when her mother went to wash clothes in a pond, leaving her sleeping on the side of the pond on Saturday. In another incident, four minors aged between five and ten were raped by a 40-year-old man in Bankura district. The accused, grocer Rabi Lochan Dey, was arrested on Saturday night.


School watchman held for rape

Raipur: The watchman of a government-run residential school for tribal girls in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker

district has been arrested for alleged sexual assault of the minor inmates, police said. Deenaram (23), the watchman of the Tribal Girls Pre-Matric Hostel, was

arrested following a complaint by Women and Child Development Officer. Another accused, 24-year-old Mannu Ram Gota, was absconding. After the news came out, Congress workers staged a demonstration and blocked the traffic at Kanker town, demanding action against the culprits.


Girl beats up eve-teaser

Akola: An eve-teaser was allegedly beaten up by a 20-year-old girl when he tried to harass her while she

was returning home in Patun, police said on Sunday. The girl fought back against the accused, grabbing and slapping him. The youth was arrested after a police complaint was filed.


Deaf-mute woman raped in MP

Balaghat (MP): A 35-year-old deaf-and-mute woman was allegedly raped at her residence in Mohgaon Bori
village, police said on Sunday. The accused,

Omkar Brahme, had followed her to a toilet locatedin the backyard of her house and raped her, police said, adding that he has been arrested.
