Daduwal sent to 14-day judicial custody

A Dabwali court has sent Sant Samaj leader Baljit Singh Daduwal to 14-day judicial custody a day after the Sirsa police took him in their custody.


Daduwal was declared proclaimed offender (PO) by Dabwali court. A case under Section 307 was registered against him on 16 July,2007, in which police booked a dozen Sikh protesters.

A group of Sikhs led by Daduwal allegedly attacked the cavalcade of dera sacha sauda
head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan, when the latter's cavalade was passing from Gukawali
village of this district.

Protesters had pelted stones which caused serious damage to dera chief cavalcade vehicles.

Dera chief had escaped unhurt, but some dera devotees who were  deployed in the personnel security were also injured. Daduwal was also wanted by police in blocking national highway near Chormar village in 2007. A medical examination was performed at Odhan cmmunity health center before he was produced in Dabwali Court.
