A Class-10 Dalit girl was allegedly gangraped by four men from her own village, Halluwas in Bhiwani district.

The incident took place on March 22, but the police registered a case on Friday night after the victim’s family approached them.

The police, quoting the 15-year-old victim, said she was going from her home to the cattle shed on Wednesday morning when the four youths abducted her and took her to a secluded place where they raped her and made a video of the whole act.

The victim’s family further stated that the four had threatened to make the rape video viral on the social media if she complained about it to anyone, fearing which, she did not tell her parents anything for two days. However, she narrated her ordeal after her parents sensed something was wrong as she had been crying all the time and had stopped eating food.

Based on the complaint, the police have booked four men —Monu, Rahul, Devender and Sudhir— on charges of gangrape, IT Act and SC/ST (prevention of atrocities) Act.

“All four are on the run. One of the accused is the victim’s neighbour while the other three too belong to the same village. A massive hunt has been launched to nab them,” women police station in-charge inspector Laxmi said.

Meanwhile, villagers claimed that the accused have already posted the video of the rape on social media. “That’s what the entire village is talking. However, no one has come to us to show the video. We have gone to the village twice to conduct raids.

But we have not come across any such video so far,” the SHO said.
