Dalit woman beaten up for relieving herself in field

Members of the community blocked the Delhi-Dehradun highway near the village demanding the farmer be arrested.

A 25-year-old Dalit woman was allegedly beaten up by a farmer for relieving herself in his sugarcane field in Bhens village here, police said on Friday.

The woman had come to attend a wedding in the area.

Members of the community blocked the Delhi-Dehradun highway near the village demanding the farmer be arrested, circle officer Hari Ram said.

The accused has been taken into custody and a probe has been ordered into the matter, police said.
