A 16-year-old schoolgirl from south Delhi was raped by three friends late Tuesday — the third minor victim of sexual assault in just the last four days.

The Class 10 student told the police the three friends picked her up at 7.30pm for an outing in the Safdarjung area and gave her an alcohol-spiked beverage.

“She was picked up by two of the men in a white Hyundai Verna car and offered a ride. She decided to go along since she knew them,” said a police officer. “They were soon joined by the third accused and they drove to the parking lot of nearby Kamal Cinema, where they raped her and threatened her against telling anyone.”

The girl has identified the three as Rohit, Narender and Tinku, all between 20 and 22 years of age, from Pillaunji village in the Sarojini Nagar area. The three men dropped her a fair distance from her home and are on the run.

A complaint was filed at Safdurjung Enclave police station by the victim’s father after he saw her stumble house, apparently drunk, around 1am.

“Her father asked her what the matter was and she broke down and told him what had happened,” the officer said.

A medical examination confirmed sexual assault, leading to registration of a case of gang rape.

In the other instances too, the perpetrators were known to the victim. On October 20, a teenager was found murdered after allegedly being sexually assaulted by her cousin in Shahbad Dairy, a semi-urban village in northwest Delhi.

This was followed by the sexual assault of a five-year-old girl by a minor from the same area on Monday.
