A Delhi-based cloth merchant was killed after a woman coach conductor allegedly pushed him out of the Lucknow-Delhi Shatabdi Express in Aligarh on Wednesday.

The passenger, identified as Ishan alias Krishna, 27,  died on Thursday at a hospital where he was admitted after he lost a leg and suffered other injuries in the incident.

In a similar incident in May this year, a woman was killed in Jalgaon in Maharashtra after she was allegedly pushed out of moving train by an inebriated train ticket examiner (TTE).

Government Railway Police (GRP) in Aligarh said they have not filed any FIR as no complaint has been lodged so far.

"Other passengers at the platform have claimed that the coach conductor pushed Krishna out of the train. However, no one has lodged a complaint. The victim was also not in a position to give any statement," GRP senior sub-inspector (SSI) Tej Veer Singh said.

The GRP also did not name the accused.

Krishna, who hailed from Tughlaqabad in the national capital, had come to meet his sister in Aligarh, over 300 km from capital Lucknow.

GRP has managed to reconstruct the sequence of events based on inputs from other people present on the platform.

Singh said that Krishna had tried to board the train but the coach conductor told him that there was no seat vacant.

Krishna argued that he had a first-class ticket, was ready to pay the difference and that he would travel standing, the sources said.

Even as they argued, the train started moving and the coach conductor pushed Krishna out of the train. One of his legs came under the rains wheels and cut off.

The GRP shifted the injured passenger to hospital before informing his wife. However, his family-members had not arrived in Aligarh till the last update.
