While reacting over a statement of the chief minister, Virbhadra Singh that Dhumal was in the knowing of the phone tapping incidents, being the home minister of state, he said that the home secretary takes a call on whose phones should be put under observation, not the chief minister.

He said let the government come out with its so called report. " We committed nothing wrong and no need to worry", he told HT here this evening.

The BJP leader said that the main who was claiming himself to be the chief minister for sixth time must know that telegraph 1885 clearly specifies that tapping is done in case of those persons who are suspected of such activities which were harmful for the cause of the state and such work was done by the Police chief of state after getting approval from Home Secretary. He said that if some officer had done the tapping himself, he should be taken to task.

Dhumal said that the chief minister was trying to raise this controversy in view of the fact that he has failed to get any relief from the central government during his recent tour to New Delhi and that was why, he was so frustrated and trying to sidetrack the issue by raising the controversy of so called phone tapping. He said that the day was not for off when employees of the state would not get their monthly dues due to the failure of the Congress party government in state to maintain their accounts properly.
