All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary and former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh Digvijaya Singh on Wednesday taking on the state BJP government said he had learnt that the party in Himachal has allotted Rs. 500 crore to 'thug' Baba Ramdev for peanuts.
"This government never allotted land to the needy landless people but costly land given by Raja Patiyala to Himachal government was given for peanuts to Baba Ramdev who is a 'thug' (Rouge)," alleged Singh adding that prime land was given parliamentarian and son of Himachal CM, Anurag Thakur led Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) to build an residential complex for players but later it was turned into a five star hotel .
He hit at BJP national president, Nitin Gadkari stating that he and some other saffron party leaders have around ten flats in Adarsh Housing Society.
"Gadkari and some other BJP leaders have flats in Adarsh Housing Society and we have ample evidences to prove this," said Singh while addressing an election rally at Banikhet of Dalhousie assembly segment in Chamba district.
Lambasting Gadkari over the controversy surrounding a land grab case, Singh said instead of stepping down the BJP top leader is running here and there consulting his lawyers.
Claiming that Congress has never given shelter to corrupts and such people whether within the party or in constituent party have been sent to jail, Singh said BJP has always tried to save its leader who were found indulged in corrupt practices.
"BJP had tried to shield Bangaru Laxman when he was caught in a scam and now the party is trying to save Gadkari who is facing corruption charges" alleged Singh.
Accusing BJP of levelling baseless allegations against, Himachal Congress supremo, Virbhadra Singh, the Congress general secretary said name of Madhya Pradesh chief minister was mentioned in the document of same company and why BJP was not talking about him.
He slammed chief minister, Prem Kumar Dhumal for opening the large number of private universities in the state.
"While the 750 private schools have been closed by the state government, costly land has been given to private university on lease and after 15 years this land will be finally transferred to owners of these university who are free to start any business there," alleged Digvijay.
He said BJP was a party of rich and was never concerned about the poor, while congress has always worked for the downtrodden.
Condemning Dhumal for first demanding FDI in retail and then to opposing the move of centre government, Singh said FDI was in favour of the horticulturist and consumers.
