A day after a group of students locked an examination centre at the Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (LLRUVAS) where students of a private veterinary college had to appear for examination, the examination of the said private college students took place under police supervision on Tuesday.

Around 9.30am, students of veterinary and livestock development diploma (VLDD) course of the LLRUVAS tried to sit on a dharna outside the examination centre on the varsity campus, but could not do so due to police presence.

Later, they were asked to continue their agitation, around 200 metre away from the examination centre.
The students are alleging that the affiliation to said private college was given in a hushed up manner and the examination was illegal.

"We will approach the court on the matter," said Sunil Dhariwal, LLRUVAS students' group leader.
Nearly 100 students of VLDD diploma course of international institute of veterinary education and research, Rohtak, were to appear for the examination here on Monday but a group of students of the same course of LLRUVAS locked up the examination centre and did not allow the university to conduct the examination on Monday.

The university officials said that the examination was not illegal and affiliation got delayed due to an approval granted to the private institute. Heavy deployment of police remained in place throughout the day on Tuesday on the university campus to avoid any untoward incident.
