Five die in Nagaland road accident

At least five people were killed and five others injured seriously on Friday when their vehicle fell into a deep gorge near Tseminyu town in Nagaland's Kohima district.

Five people died this afternoon at a place after crossing about three km of Tseminyu town on the highway when the car with the occupants coming from Wokha to Kohima skidded off the road and fell into the gorge, the police said.

The cause of the mishap was yet to be ascertained, the police said.

The victims included three members of a family and two youths while all the five seriously injured persons were admitted to Tseminyu hospital after being rescued by the villagers, police and Assam Rifles personnel with great difficulties.
