The police said other complainants alleged that he had them undergo forced abortions after being raped by him.

The woman who filed the complaint has named the manager of Asaram’s mahila ashram, Dhruv. She told police that Dhruv would regularly take girls who were raped to the hospital if any of them were suspected to be pregnant and abortions were performed in case they were. The 72-year-old Asaram also reportedly tested positive on the second potency test. He had earlier tested positive for the potency test conducted on him in Jodhpur last month.

Asaram’s advocate BM Gupta, however, said the Surat sisters’ complaint was motivated.

Asaram, 72, was arrested by the Rajasthan Police in Indore on September 1 after a 16-year-old girl complained on August 20 that he sexually assaulted her in his Jodhpur ashram.
