Former Aam Aadmi Party leader Shazia Ilmi is likely to join the Congress.

Sources said Ilmi is in touch with the top Congress and her induction to the grand old party has almost been approved.

Ilmi, who had contested the last assembly election on an AAP ticket from RK Puram, had quit the fledgling party citing ‘lack of internal democracy’.

“The final decision will be taken by the party high-command,” a senior Delhi Congress leader said.

Ilmi could not be contacted despite repeated attempts.
