Senior IPS officer who was removed as the SSP Muzaffarnagar following the September clashes in Kawal, has applied for a long-leave citing personal reasons.

Manjil Saini, who is presently posted in the 11th Battalion PAC, Sitapur has applied for five month's leave, IG Law and order RK Vishkarma said on Wednesday.

Her application would be considered once it reach the relevant authorities, Vishkarma added.

Saini had applied for Central deputation on April 27, 2012 and the CBI had given its consent on March 14, 2013 which she refused citing personal reasons, Vishkarma said, adding, that following her refusal she has been barred for Central posting for five years.

Sources said that Saini has applied for leave to look after her children after being denied permission for a Central deputation.

They revealed that Saini had requested for posting in the western districts but since she has been transferred to Sitapur she is finding it difficult to take care of her children and hence applied for leave.

Before Saini, former ADG Arun Kumar, who was removed from his post and attached to the DGP office following the Muzaffarnagar riots, had also applied for leave for sometime and later denied permission for a Central deputation.
