The Ghaziabad police on Saturday arrested four persons in connection with the murder of a local Samajwadi Party leader.

In a sensational twist, it came to light that the leader was a victim of a conspiracy orchestrated by the prime accused's mother and her male friend.

According to police, the prime accused, Mitthan Yadav, killed the leader, Yashvir Singh, upon the instigation of his mother's close friend KP Yadav.

As per police, Mitthan was not happy with his mother's (Rajbala) growing closeness to KP Yadav and had even threatened to kill him around 15-20 days ago.

In order to get rid of Mitthan and his objections for once and all, KP Yadav conspired with Rajbala to convince Mitthan to kill the leader so that he could be subsequently arrested and cleared from their path.

The leader and Mitthan are next door neighbours in Bamheta village.
