The local court of civil judge Atul Marya on Monday asked Gurgaon chief judicial magistrate Ravneet Garg to inform the court about the school his daughters were studying in.

Garg has been accused of murdering his wife Geetanjali on July 17. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is probing into the case.

During the first hearing of the case on Monday in Panchkula, replying to allegations of Garg's daughters being withdrawn from school, Garg's counsel Vishal Garg Narwana submitted that the girls were studying but failed to disclose the school's name on being asked by the judge.

"We have been asked by the court to disclose the name of the school where Garg's daughters are studying by August 29," Narwana said.

The case against Garg was filed by Geetanjali's parents Om Prakash Aggarwal and Sheelawati Aggarwal. Seeking the girls' custody, they have submitted in their petition that both the girls - Aasma, around 5 years old, and Adiva, around 4-year-old - would get a sigh of relief in their custody as their mother was "murdered at the hands of Ravneet Garg and his parents".

Aggarwals said that both the girls were in shock and had been confined to a room in Panchkula, while Garg was posted in Gurgaon.

They said the girls would get a better life and good company of their cousins in their custody.

The court was informed that they had not been allowed to meet the girls since their daughter died. There are specific allegations of dowry being demanded and Geetanjali being tortured in the petition.

Garg and Geetanjali had got married in 2007.
