Demanding a judicial inquiry into the change of land use (CLU)-CD scandal allegedly involving Congress leaders, the members of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) staged a protest at the mini-secretariat here on Wednesday.
Led by party legislators Narendra Sangwan (Ghraunda), Mamu Ram Gondar (Nilokheri) and Ashok Kashyap (Indri), party workers submitted a memorandum to the district administration in support of their demand.
They urged the governor to direct the state government to appoint an inquiry panel under a sitting judge of the high court to investigate the case.
Party's national general secretary Brij Sharma blamed the Congress regime for indulging in corrupt practices.
"The state government is acting as a property dealer and Congress leaders are its agents. The CDs show the real face of Congress legislators and members of their families who are demanding bribes to ensure CLU certificates," Sharma said.
INLD leaders said the state government was shying away from a fair probe as more top leaders were involved in the illegal financial mess.
